Ingredients

Yield: Yield: 6 servings

1 onion, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/3 cup Kikkoman Teriyaki Takumi Collection,
Garlic & Green Onion
2 cans (14 oz. each) less sodium beef broth
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
6 slices Provolone cheese
6 slices (each about 1 inch thick) French bread, toasted

Instructions

  1. Cook onion in hot oil in large saucepan over medium heat 15 minutes, or until translucent and slightly browned, stirring frequently.
  2. Stir in teriyaki sauce. Add broth and pepper; bring to boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 10 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, place 1 cheese slice over each toasted bread slice and broil until cheese melts and is golden brown.
  4. Divide soup evenly into 6 individual soup bowls. Place bread slices on top and serve immediately.
