Every month brings occasions for celebration, and March is no exception. There are a lot of reasons to get together with family and friends for fun and feasting, from NCAA March Madness to St. Patrick’s Day to Mardi Gras.
You don’t have to be Irish to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, and you don’t have to stick to the same old menu, either! Instead of corned beef and cabbage, make our featured recipe, Teriyaki Pot Roast, or a Country Lamb Stew loaded with carrots, potatoes and turnips. A slaw made with cabbage and zucchini in a dressing of Kikkoman Rice Vinegar and Kikkoman Less Sodium Soy Sauce will bring a touch of green to your table, and you can continue the “wearing of the green” right through to dessert, with Lemon-Green Tea Ice Cream or our featured video, Green Tea Popsicles®, both made with Pearl® Organic Green Tea Soymilk.
From the first week of March until the first week of April, sports fans go crazy for March Madness, the National Collegiate Athletic Association men's and women's basketball tournaments that determine the national champions of college basketball. If you’re planning to be parked in front of your TV until the final nail-biting minutes, why not invite some friends over to share the excitement? Sweet Ginger Wings made with naturally brewed Kikkoman Soy Sauce and Kikkoman Sweet & Sour Dipping Sauce are the perfect finger food, and Crispy Soy Snackers, made with bagels brushed with garlic-infused Kikkoman Soy Sauce and baked, go great with all your favorite dips.
In New Orleans, people will use almost any excuse to celebrate and eat good food, and Mardi Gras is no exception. This year, March 8th marks the beginning of the festivities surrounding Fat Tuesday, and a great reason to indulge in the delicious dishes of the Big Easy.
Kikkoman Panko Bread Crumbs can help you add that “Mardi Gras crunch” to Southern seafood dishes like Shrimp Po’ Boy. New Orleans is famous for these baguette-based versions of the submarine sandwich, filled with crispy fried seafood. For our version, we’ve chosen shrimp with a crunchy panko coating. Try it with Creole mustard or a tangy remoulade sauce made with Kikkoman Ponzu Sauce. Or try Kikkoman’s Southern classic Creole Rice, which is sure to be a hit with its savory mix of sausages, vegetables, spices, rice and of course, Kikkoman Soy Sauce. You’ll almost feel as if you’re in New Orleans for the celebration!
There are more than a few reasons to celebrate this month, but whether it’s March Madness, Saint Patrick’s Day, Mardi Gras or the springing of Spring, Kikkoman can help you make the most of it.
